Steve Carver (Public Participation in Local Decision Making: Evaluating the Potential of Virtual Decision Making Environments) is a lecturer in the School of Geography, University of Leeds. His main research interests include GIS, spatial decision support systems, public participation, environmental modelling and wilderness areas. He is co-editor of the Journal of Geographic Information and Decision Analysis and is a member of the US National Center for Geographic Information and Analysis (NCGIA) research initiative 17 on collaborative spatial decision making. He is the editor of Innovations in GIS 5 and co-author of a recent book An Introduction to Geographical Information Systems.
