Vivienne Light (Learning Sites: Networked Resources and the Learning
Community) qualified as a teacher in 1969 and then went on to work in arts education
specialising in both music and art. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a
founder member and exhibitions organiser for an international arts group. In 1995 she obtained a Masters Degree in Education from the Open University. Her dissertation concerned qualitative analysis of cooperative learning, involving both observation and interviewing. Following on from that, she became engaged in cooperative research on student learning using CMC, mainly involving the analysis of interview data.
