Dr Caroline Ingram

Caroline Ingram was the Programme Administrator for the Virtual Society? Programme until August 2000. She holds a PhD (Bangor) in Geological Oceanography, but could not see a future for herself in academia, giving lectures and partaking in the eternal rounds of applications for research funding. So she decided to put her organisational and communication skills to use for programme and project management. After 18 months working for the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), as the associate programme manager responsible for the health of Chemical Engineering in the UK, Caroline has now leapt back over the fence into academia, and will be trying to spend Research Council money instead of give it away.
