Ms Elizabeth Mills
Elizabeth Mills has been Director, Research into Ageing (the national medical research charity) since 1990. She holds a number of external appointments including: UK Adviser to the Institute for Global Ethics and to the American Federation for Ageing Research; member of the Management Committee of AgeNet and the Executive Committee of the Friends of Imperial College. She has previously served as a Council Member of ESRC; a trustee for Age Concern England; a local councillor for the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham; a member of the National Executive of the Association of Medical Research Charities; and as a lay member of the General Synod of Church of England.
Among her other interests she is a member of the Association of Chief Executives of National Voluntary Organisations; the Institute of Charity Fundraising Managers; the Association of Catholic Women; a Freeman of the City of London and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Grocers. She is co-author of Fit for the Future: the prevention of dependency in later life. (1998 Continuing Care Conference, London).
